Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC) is an ecumenical body established in 1992 by Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) and Christian Council of Tanzania (CCT) to facilitate the provision of social services in Tanzania.

CSSC invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced dynamic and motivated Tanzanians to fill the following vacant post:

1. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

Reports to: The Director
Job Summary
The Assistant Director Finance & Administration shall be responsible for management and oversight of all  financial processes and procedures including budgeting coordination and monitoring , financial procedures and internal control, accounts payable and purchasing integration, payroll systems, coordination with CSSC financial staff, cash flow management, computerising accounting systems and procedures, audit and leadership management responsibility.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages the Finance and Administration Department by formulating short and long term work programmes for the Department and supervises the implementation of such programmes
• Formulates for approval the Commission’s financial regulations, policies and procedures, gives interpretation to guide the management of human resources, financial resources and takes measures to ensure that such regulations, policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the Commission.
• Prepares budget guidelines for use by all Departments and Units and ensures that such guidelines are followed
• Oversees all aspects of human resources management in the Commission
• Advices the Director on all matters pertaining to financial management, accounting, and human resources management  - and ensures that the Director is all times appraised of opportunities and threats that have a bearing on the finances and/or human resource of the Commission,
• Provides support and guidance to the Heads of Departments and Units on the proper management of human resources and financial resources
• Keeps and maintains proper books of accounts pertaining to revenue and expenditure in accordance with accounting and legal requirements
• Deals with all matters pertaining to taxation
• Keeps custody of all accounting documents
• Ensures timely preparations and submission of statutory financial statements to the authorities and various users
• Makes all necessary preparations for accounts to be audited and assists the auditors in carrying out the audit
• Ensures timely preparation and submission of financial performance reports – through a well functioning M & E system
• Coordinates stock taking of the Commission’s fixed assets and stocks to establish their existence and values for accounting and other purposes   
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Director from time to time.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
a) A committed Christian
b) Holder of a Masters in business administration, finance, accounting, or equivalent. Must have fully accredited professional accounting certificate i.e CPA(T),  ACCA, ICMA plus at least five years experience since obtaining professional qualifications
c) Minimum of 8 years professional accounting experience which demonstrate increasingly responsible Finance and Administration management experience
d) Minimum 2 years experience working with non profit organizations with funding from donors
e) Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Kiswahili
